Fragments
Much of the writing in The Book of Sorren consists of small fragments, and is consistent with the form of a diary. There are no dates of any kind throughout the book, for time was marked quite differently by most people in the Middle Ages. For most people, time was marked against the background of special days determined by the Church, and often times supplemented with the phases of the lunar cycle.
